PREPARATION

• Block out three 30 minute sessions in your diary over the next seven days.

• Start a training journal to record your meditation practice sessions and to make any notes or observations.

• Choose the time you are going to sit quietly without distractions or interference.

• Find a room with a bare or plain floor or wall, without patterns, pictures or sticky notes.

• You’ll need a hard-backed, armless chair with a padded seat or cushion to sit on, so find one that is suitable for the purpose.

• If you need to let other people know what you’re doing and get their help and support, or for them to vacate the area, sort this out ahead of time.

• When the time arrives, put your phone and other devices on silent or sleep mode; but you’ll need a timer, so you could use this function on your mobile phone or watch, for example.
